We are seeking volunteering to lead hand working classes-such as needlepoint, knitting, crochet, macrame and cross stitching, class all skill levels. Classes are designed to provide a welcoming space for creativity, skill-building, and social connection.
Role Description:
The volunteer will instruct participants in basic to intermediate techniques. The
class may include guided instruction, demonstrations, and support for
participants working on individual or group projects.
Responsibilities:
- Lead weekly sessions
- Provide instruction in basic stitches, techniques, and project guidance
- Help create a supportive and inclusive learning environment
- Assist participants with questions and hands-on support as needed
Time Commitment:
Flexible, typically once per week (day/time to be determined based on program
schedule)
Skills & Experience:
- Experience with sewing and/or crochet required
- Ability to teach or demonstrate skills to beginners and intermediate participants
- Patience, enthusiasm, and strong communication skills
- Experience working with groups of adults or youth is a plus but not required
