Mooresville Parks & Recreation's Youth Sports Leagues depend on volunteer coaches and coaching assistants. Our community benefits greatly from the generosity of these volunteers!

For the safety of our children, all potential coaches, assistants and anyone wishing to serve as "Team Mom" or "Team Dad" in any Mooresville Parks & Recreation Sports League must complete an electronic Volunteer Application and be approved. If chosen to coach or assist they must pass a criminal background check prior to any coaching or assisting duties.

If you have been chosen to coach or assist, once your electronic application has been approved, you will be sent a link to complete a background check which must be approved before you may begin any coaching/assisting duties. This background check is valid for 3 years, and will notify of any changed within those 3 years. At that time, another background check will need approved.

Submission of an online application does not guarantee a coaching or assisting position

This position can be filled either as an internship or volunteer opportunity. 

The ideal candidate will have the ability to write stories for print media (newspapers, magazines), contact television media to attend events, and help with social media and newsletters for Special Olympics Lake Norman.

The position can be a mixture of in-person and virtual schedule once the person is settled into the role.
