Storm drain marking is a volunteer activity in which volunteers place storm drain markers on or near storm drains to help draw attention to the connection between storm drains and our local water bodies. These storm drain markers show the message “Don’t pollute, flows to waterways”.
Storm drain marking can take place year-round under dry weather conditions. The stormwater department maintains a map of areas that need to be marked and will work with interested volunteers to select an appropriate area for a marking activity that fits their group size and amount of time they would like to volunteer. We recommend a time frame of 1-3 hours per marking activity.
