Volunteer: Storm Drain Marking (rolling opportunity)

Storm drain marking is a volunteer activity in which volunteers place storm drain markers on or near storm drains to help draw attention to the connection between storm drains and our local water bodies.  These storm drain markers show the message “Don’t pollute, flows to waterways”.  Storm drain marking volunteer events can be done by an individual (as long as the individual is over the age of 18) or a group.

Storm drain marking can take place year-round under dry weather conditions. The stormwater department maintains a map of areas that need to be marked and will work with interested volunteers to select an appropriate area for a marking activity that fits their group size and amount of time they would like to volunteer. We recommend a time frame of 1-3 hours per marking activity.

Please contact the Stormwater Program Manager at 704-799-4195 with any additional questions.
